Matthew J. Catania is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. The lawyers in our Business and Finance Practice focus on mergers and acquisitions (including joint ventures, spin-offs, and strategic alliances), finance and restructuring, securities (including public and private equity and debt offerings), and tax. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to investment banks to emerging market companies. Mr. Catania focuses his practice on derivatives, securitizations, and structuring financial instruments.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Catania worked in the structured finance group of a prominent law firm in New York, focusing on CDOs, CLOs, derivatives, and other complex structured products.
Mr. Catania received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 2006, where he was an editor for the New York University School of Law Journal of Law & Business. While in law school, he attended the International and Comparative Business Law Program at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany, through New York University’s Hauser Global Law School Program. Mr. Catania received his B.A. in business-economics and political science, with a minor in accounting, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003.
