James K. Dixon

Chief of Practice Development

Jim Dixon is Morgan Lewis's firmwide chief of practice development. In this role, Mr. Dixon operates the business development functions of the firm, manages the firm's strategic planning activities, and supports the managing partners for practice as they oversee the firm's practice management and development efforts. Mr. Dixon has extensive experience in nearly all areas of law firm general administration, and has deep experience in the areas of law firm finance, practice management, and business development.

Mr. Dixon began his career at Morgan Lewis in 1993 as the deputy administrator for the Washington, D.C. office. He had a break in service during which he served as director of finance and administration and then as chief operating officer for two prominent international law firms. Mr. Dixon also served as the director of administration for the firm's Washington, D.C. office of nearly 600 personnel.

Mr. Dixon received his B.A.in economics from the Virginia Military Institute in 1984. Mr. Dixon has attended executive education programs at Harvard Business School, University of Virginia, and Georgetown University.
