Charis A. Runnels is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Runnels focuses on representing employers in a variety of labor and employment law litigation matters, particularly various claims of employment discrimination in both individual and class-wide actions.
Ms. Runnels has defended employers in class-wide claims of discrimination under Title VII, Section 1981, ERISA and the FLSA. She also represents clients before the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and other various state and local fair employment agencies. In addition, she counsels employers on a variety of employment-related matters.
Ms. Runnels received her J.D., with highest honors, in 1999 from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and Order of the Coif and served as president of the Society of Women in Law. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Marquette University’s School of Communication, Journalism and Performing Arts in 1993 with a major in theatre arts.
Ms. Runnels is admitted to practice in Illinois.
