Lisa S. Serebin is of counsel in Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment Practice. Attorneys in this practice regularly advise clients on virtually every type of labor and employment issue, from international counseling to management relations and labor disputes. Attorneys include the former chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, fellows in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, and partners recognized for professional excellence in The Best Lawyers in America.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Serebin was a partner in a large international law firm, where she provided advice and counseling to clients on tax securities, ERISA and the accounting consequences of compensation and benefits arrangements. Prior to that, she advised and represented the clients of an employee benefits boutique firm. In that role, Ms. Serebin managed and assisted in all aspects of litigation, including representation of clients in federal and state courts (trial and appellate), settlement conferences, administrative proceedings before the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service, and in alternative dispute resolution. She has also been a staff attorney for the Regional Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of Labor in San Francisco.
Ms. Serebin is a member of the American Bar Association and the Wisconsin Bar Association’s Sections on Labor and Employment Law, Taxation and Employee Benefits. She is a former representative and Executive Counsel member of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division for Northern California. Ms. Serebin is also a past president of the Barristers of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s board of directors. She has addressed several professional legal organizations on a wide range of topics, including benefit claim litigation, executive compensation strategies and fiduciary liability issues.
Ms. Serebin earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1989, and her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, in 1983.
