Amanda Betman is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Betman represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment law matters before federal and state trial courts, appellate courts, and administrative agencies, including those alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, violations of public policy, and violations of whistleblower rights. She has represented employers in labor disputes before the American Arbitration Association and the National Labor Relations Board. 

Ms. Betman also provides employment counseling on a variety of employment matters and has negotiated employment, noncompete, and separation agreements. She also has provided sexual harassment and antidiscrimination training for management and human resources personnel.

Ms. Betman has been recognized for her pro bono work, including representing victims of sex trafficking in removal proceedings, the family of a deceased jazz musician in litigation over memorabilia, domestic abuse victims in family court, and a child day care center in an arbitration proceeding.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Betman was an associate in the labor and employment group of a major international firm in New York. While in law school, she served as a legal intern to Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Betman earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 2004, where she was the notes and comments editor of the Brooklyn Law Review, a Carswell Merit Scholar, and received the Dean Jerome Price Prize and Doris A. Thompson and Edward Thompson Award for Excellence in Professional Skills. She received her B.S., magna cum laude, in family studies from University of Maryland in 2000.

Ms. Betman is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
