Louise Howarth is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Litigation Practice. Her practice focuses on domestic and international commercial and banking litigation, and financial services regulatory and compliance matters. She has acted for a broad range of international clients, including the government of a European state, leading investment banks, hedge funds, and multinational companies. Louise has represented clients in banking fraud, derivatives, commercial, regulatory, and general banking litigation matters.

  • Produced a worldwide compliance regulatory report for a global electronic trading platform.
  • Represented the respondent in an ICSID arbitration in relation to a dispute concerning a nuclear power plant in Eastern Europe.
  • Represented the respondent in an ICC arbitration relating to a carbon trading dispute.
  • Represented a large investment bank in relation to a $60 million multijurisdictional fraud dispute involving claims for negligence, dishonesty, misrepresentation, and breach of contract against the defendants.
  • Represented a major Japanese company in connection with worldwide cartel investigations into alleged price-fixing in the mobile phone industry.
  • Assisted the claimant in a high-profile contentious probate in which a £10 million bequest by the claimant’s deceased father was overturned on the grounds of lack of testamentary capacity.
