Jennifer L. Coffey is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Coffey focuses her practice on labor and employment counseling and litigation, including the defense of claims brought under Title VII, Section 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Federal and Florida Whistleblower's Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the federal and state fair housing acts.
As part of her practice, Ms. Coffey guides internal employer audits on wage and hour issues, human resource procedures and practices, and employment policy handbooks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. She also maintains an active state and federal litigation practice in all aspects of employment law. Ms. Coffey supervises and conducts internal investigations into employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and she represents employers before state and federal administrative agencies, including responding to employee charges of discrimination and participating in administrative mediation proceedings.
Ms. Coffey received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University in 2001 and her B.H.S., summa cum laude, from Florida Atlantic University in 1996.
Ms. Coffey is a frequent speaker on a variety of employment law topics and has authored a number of articles for local and national publications.
