Stephanie R. Reiss is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Reiss represents clients in all aspects of labor and employment cases, including those involving employment discrimination, noncompete agreements, ERISA matters, wage and hour issues, and complex litigation. In addition, she drafts employment policies and agreements and advises employers on day-to-day employment issues.

Ms. Reiss has focused her practice particularly on complex litigation of wage and hour issues and ERISA claims. She has assisted in obtaining summary judgment on claims brought under the FLSA on behalf of a putative class of financial advisors (Hein v. PNC (E.D. Pa.), in obtaining dismissal of state law overtime claims brought together with FLSA claims in a putative class action, and in obtaining summary judgment in a class action brought under Pennsylvania law seeking overtime on behalf of route sales representatives. She has also worked on complex ERISA litigation, as well as handled single plaintiff ERISA matters. Ms. Reiss additionally has obtained numerous dismissals and summary judgment awards in favor of employers in a variety of employment discrimination cases and affirmation of such decisions on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Reiss was a law clerk to Judge D. Brooks Smith while he served as chief judge of the Western District of Pennsylvania (2001-2002) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (2002-2003).

Ms. Reiss earned her J.D., magna cum laude, in 2001 from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she was an articles editor on the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and was named to the Order of the Coif. She received an M.A. in anthropology from the College of William and Mary in 1997 and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University in 1993.

Ms. Reiss is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
