Kristin H. Altoff is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. Ms. Altoff's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, prosecution, counseling, and licensing matters involving copyrights, trademarks, and unfair competition. She advises clients regarding enforcement matters and represents clients in federal court litigation involving trademark, copyright, and unfair competition matters and in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board cancellation and opposition proceedings.
Ms. Altoff regularly counsels clients regarding all aspects of domestic and international trademark portfolio management, including advising and assisting clients with trademark clearance, registration, maintenance. As part of her international trademark portfolio management work, Ms. Altoff routinely counsels clients on the protection of brands on a worldwide basis, including initiating and defending trademark opposition and cancellation actions and litigation.
Ms. Altoff also works with clients on intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and negotiating trademark licenses and related agreements.
Ms. Altoff is active in the International Trademark Association, currently as a member of the Trademark Enforcement Committee, Issues of Proof Subcommittee.
Ms. Altoff earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the American University, Washington College of Law in 2002, where she was an articles editor for The Administrative Law Review. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Russian and Eastern European studies from Boston University in 1995.
Ms. Altoff is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
