François Vergne is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice resident in our Paris office.
Mr. Vergne is part of our cross-practice Global Workforce team that provides integrated cross-border advice, counseling, and strategic planning across the spectrum of labor, employment, benefits, and immigration issues.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Vergne was a partner at a leading French law firm, where he focused on French, EU and international employment and labor law, and represented clients before courts and various administrative bodies having jurisdiction on labor matters. Prior to his partnership in 1999, Mr. Vergne was a partner at a leading Paris law firm. Mr. Vergne also advises on individual and collective aspects of industrial and corporate reorganizations, social security and litigation connected to labor disputes.
Mr. Vergne is a contributing author to Getting the Deal Through — Labour and Employment, an annual series of deskbooks that provide international analysis in key areas of employment law and policy for corporate counsel, cross-border legal practitioners, and global team leaders. Mr. Vergne has authored feature chapters in Getting the Deal Through — Labour and Employment 2006–2012.
Mr. Vergne received his Maîtrise de droit, and his Diplôme de l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Section "Service Public") in 1980, his DEA in English and American law in 1983, and his LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Fulbright Scholar in 1983-1984. Mr. Vergne is fluent in French and English.

François Vergne est associé et a pour principal domaine d'intervention le droit social.
Avec son équipe, M. Vergne accompagne des sociétés et grands groupes français et étrangers sur l'ensemble de leurs problématiques de droit social et de droit du travail. Il les conseille en matière de relations individuelles et collectives du travail, de rémunération, de protection sociale, d'épargne et de retraite et les représente lors de toutes leurs procédures contentieuses.
Membre fondateur de l'association Avosial qui regroupe des avocats d'entreprises spécialisés en droit social, M. Vergne est diplômé de l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Service-Public-1980), titulaire d'un LL.M. de l'université de Pennsylvania (Boursier Fondation Fullbright 1983-1984) ainsi que d'un D.E.A. de droit anglais et nord-américain des affaires (1983).
Il est inscrit au Barreau de Paris depuis 1987. Il est également chargé d'enseignement à l'IEP de Paris et à l'Université de Paris XIII.
Avant de rejoindre Morgan Lewis, M. Vergne était associé au sein du cabinet Moquet Borde & Associés de 1994 à 1999 puis du cabinet De Pardieu Brocas Maffei et Leygonie de 1999 à 2004.
