Joseph E. Washington is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Washington's practice focuses on a variety of intellectual property matters, including prosecution, counseling, licensing, and litigation in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, and Internet and computer law. Mr. Washington regularly counsels a wide variety of clients regarding all facets of international trademark portfolio management, including advising and assisting clients with the clearance, registration, and protection of brands on a worldwide basis. He also works with clients on intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and negotiating trademark licenses and related agreements.

Mr. Washington is active in the International Trademark Association, currently as a member of the Bulletin Committee.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis as an associate, Mr. Washington worked as a summer associate and a law clerk with the firm's Intellectual Property Practice.

Mr. Washington received his J.D., cum laude, from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1999, where he served on the Catholic University Law Review. He received his B.A. in political science in 1991 from The Citadel.

Mr. Washington is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York.
