Karen E. Gray is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Gray's practice focuses on defending corporate clients against claims of employment discrimination and retaliation, as well as employment-related federal and state law claims, in arbitration and before state and federal courts. Ms. Gray also represents clients before the Department of Labor and state/local fair employment agencies. Her experience includes all aspects of employment-related litigation, including serving as first-chair defense counsel in jury trials before state and federal courts. Ms. Gray also has experience in employment counseling, including advice and counseling on employment litigation avoidance, employment policies and employee handbooks, employee relations, statutory compliance, noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements, and best employment practices.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Gray was an associate in private practice with a predominant focus on advising and defending corporate clients in a wide variety of employment-related matters, including employment discrimination litigation and arbitration under Title VII and other federal and state antidiscrimination and antiretaliation laws, wage and hour counseling and litigation, breach of contract and employment-related torts litigation and arbitration, and complex litigation.
Ms. Gray received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 1999, where she served as an articles editor for the Public Contract Law Journal. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the College of William & Mary in 1995.
Ms. Gray is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland.
