Ross H. Friedman is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Friedman practices management-side labor and employment law and represents clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, with a focus on management-union relations, collective bargaining, litigation before the National Labor Relations Board, contract disputes involving grievance arbitration, and related matters.
Mr. Friedman is also active in the representation of employers in discrimination actions arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and related statutes. Mr. Friedman also handles the defense of employers in benefits-related litigation involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and alleged whistleblower claims asserted under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Mr. Friedman has advised employers in relation to business reorganizations and corporate transactions. He co-chairs Morgan Lewis's Workforce Change, which is devoted to the management of employment, labor, and benefits issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, startups, spinoffs, workforce reductions, shutdowns, outsourcing, offshoring, and other types of business restructuring.
Mr. Friedman has authored or co-authored numerous articles addressing a variety of labor and employment law issues, and he is a contributing editor to The Developing Labor Law, published by the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Friedman received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2001 and his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997.
Mr. Friedman is admitted to practice in Illinois.
