Amy M. Spicer is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Spicer focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and appeals. She also assists in the criminal defense of individuals and companies in all phases of governmental investigations and prosecutions.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Spicer served as a law clerk to Judge Barry G. Silverman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to Judge Jeffrey S. White of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She was previously associated with a leading national law firm, where she focused on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation and appeals. She also served for two years as a staff attorney in the criminal division of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where she presented several cases on appeal before Ninth Circuit judges. During her tenure at the Ninth Circuit, Ms. Spicer received an Award of Recognition for High Achievement and Contribution to the Court.
Ms. Spicer earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School in 1996. In law school, she was a member of the Vermont Law School Moot Court Board and a member of the Vermont Law School National Criminal Trial Advocacy Team. Ms. Spicer competed in and was the first place winner of the Vermont Law School Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition. She earned her B.A. in history from the College of Wooster in 1992.
Ms. Spicer is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California.
