Timothy P. Heaton is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation and Intellectual Property Practices. Mr. Heaton focuses his practice primarily on intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on patents including Hatch-Waxman litigation. He also has experience in copyright and trademark litigation and enforcement of employee noncompete agreements. Mr. Heaton represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, computer hardware and software, and radio controlled devices. He has represented clients in federal courts throughout the country. In addition to his litigation background, Mr. Heaton counsels clients in intellectual property matters.

Mr. Heaton is currently part of a team involved in litigation relating to semiconductor manufacture. Most recently, Mr. Heaton was involved in a litigation relating to USB flash memory technology. He also has had significant involvement in Hatch-Waxman litigations representing major pharmaceutical companies.

Mr. Heaton earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2000, where he achieved honors in the intellectual property law concentration. While attending law school, Mr. Heaton was articles editor for the Boston University Journal of Science & Technology Law. He received his B.A. in physics from Cornell University in 1997.

Mr. Heaton is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
