Robert W. Lofton is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Lofton represents management in employment law litigation matters, including pretrial motion practice, mediation, and trial. He has successfully litigated cases in both state and federal court and has an extensive background in all aspects of employment litigation, including wrongful discharge; sex, race, age, and disability discrimination; and various other employment claims.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Lofton worked with two other national law firms. Before that, he worked for 12 years in the news and entertainment industry as a journalist and production executive at the National Broadcasting Company and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Mr. Lofton received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 1995, where he was named to the Order of the Barristers. He received his M.B.A. from Pepperdine University in 1986 and his B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California in 1979.
Mr. Lofton is a member of the Labor and Employment section of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, the Labor section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Washington State Bar Association.
Mr. Lofton is admitted to practice in California and Washington.
