Andrew L. Weil is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Weil has more than 25 years of experience in a wide variety of corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, going private transactions, restructurings, joint ventures and partnerships, securities regulations, private equity and venture capital transactions, fund formation, commercial transactions, and general corporate and securities counseling. Mr. Weil's experience includes extensive representation of clients in cross-border transactions. He has also handled numerous REITs and real estate–related transactions.

Mr. Weil has represented numerous issuers and underwriters in public financing, including initial public offerings of debt and equity securities. He has also represented purchasers, sellers, and investors in a wide variety of merger and acquisition transactions, as well as representing both borrowers and lenders in a wide range of financing transactions. Mr. Weil advises boards of directors and board committees in governance, corporate control/takeover defense, proxy fights, and securities regulatory compliance issues. He has acted as an expert witness in connection with litigation related to mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Weil has acted as corporate secretary for public company clients.

From 2008 through 2011, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business recognized Mr. Weil as a leading corporate and M&A lawyer. In 2010 and 2011, Super Lawyers selected Mr. Weil as a leading lawyer in Illinois in Business Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Securities Law.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Weil was a partner in the corporate practice of an international law firm, where he served as chair of its nationwide securities/public company group.

Mr. Weil received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1986, where he was note and comment editor for the Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business. He received his B.A., with honors, in economics from Northwestern University in 1983, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board.

Mr. Weil is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
