Morgan Lewis Continues Expansion of Chicago Office

Chicago, January 27, 2005: Morgan Lewis announced today that Miriam Bahcall and Steven Malina, of Ungaretti & Harris, are joining Morgan Lewis’ Chicago office as partners in the firm’s litigation practice.
Ms. Bahcall and Mr. Malina are a well-known team, representing financial institutions in litigation and regulatory matters. Their practice includes representing clients in nationwide class actions, and complex SEC investigations and enforcement actions. Combined, they have tried close to 100 enforcement matters and customer arbitrations before the NASD, NYSE, AAA, and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange.
The addition of Ms. Bahcall and Mr. Malina adds further depth to Morgan Lewis’ already outstanding securities and financial institutions capabilities, which includes nearly 40 lawyers who are alumni of the SEC. This depth in financial institutions matters encompasses corporate investigations, SEC enforcement, corporate securities, investment management and securities litigation. The firm bolsters this wide-ranging financial institutions and SEC experience with the strength of close to 600 litigators across offices.
Ms. Bahcall and Mr. Malina are just the two most recent additions to the firm’s Chicago office. They join a cadre of talent in the firm’s first Midwest office, which includes capacity in insurance recovery, labor and employment, and employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) matters.
