LONDON, June 6, 2012: KazMunaiGas, Kazakhstan's state oil and gas company, secured a $1.13 billion Chinese loan on Wednesday to complete an upgrade that will enable its Atyrau oil refinery to produce cleaner fuels. Morgan Lewis advised KazMunaiGas on the transaction.
The Morgan Lewis team was led by Business and Finance partner Bruce Johnston and included associates Paul Denham and Nick Nigam in London, partner Lucas Chang along with of counsel Min Duan and associate Peishu Wang in Beijing, partner Aset Shyngyssov and associate Aigul Abisheva in Almaty, as well as partner Lisa Yano in Tokyo.
