Olivier Edwards Joins Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice in Paris

PARIS, March 2, 2009: Morgan Lewis today announced the addition of Olivier Edwards—one of France's leading venture capital attorneys—as a partner in its Business and Finance Practice in Paris. Mr. Edwards will also lead the firm's Emerging Business and Technology Practice initiative in Europe.
His arrival reflects Morgan Lewis's continued commitment to meeting the legal needs of corporate and emerging growth clients in Europe. Accompanying Mr. Edwards from Jones Day, where he led that firm's venture capital practice, will be of counsel Catherine Muyl and associate Geraldine Garcia.
During his three-decade career, Mr. Edwards has represented venture capital funds and their portfolio companies, as well as technology companies on emerging business opportunities and related transactions. He serves clients in the high-tech and biotech sectors, as well as industrial or service-oriented clients in the wine and spirits, fresh products transportation, tourism, automobile, and men's and women's wear industries.
Mr. Edwards began practicing law at the Giroux firm in 1973, where he stayed until joining Jones Day in 2000.

In addition to his legal career, Mr. Edwards co-founded two nonprofit organizations—CroissancePlus and IE-Club—which are dedicated to companies with high-growth potential. He currently serves as president of the Legal and Tax Committee at CroissancePlus and as a member of the Executive Committee at the IE-Club. He also is a member of France Biotech.
Edwards, Muyl, and Garcia join a Business and Finance team that spans the United States, Europe, and Asia, with more than 300 transactional lawyers who focus on a wide variety of areas, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, finance, and capital markets.
The Paris office is one of four Morgan Lewis offices in Europe; the firm's other European offices are in London, Frankfurt, and Brussels.
