Morgan Lewis Launches Financial Reporting and the Law Blog

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 21, 2014: Morgan Lewis today announced the launch of a new resource on the intersection of financial reporting and the law. The Financial Reporting and the Law Blog will cover financial reporting and accounting issues that impact public companies, audit committees, auditors, and their advisers. It will pay particular attention to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) developments, financial reporting and auditing standard setting activities, and relevant case law. The blog will be managed by Morgan Lewis lawyers Linda Griggs and Sean Donahue.

As a partner in the firm’s Securities Practice, Ms. Griggs focuses on securities regulatory matters, including financial reporting and accounting and other disclosure requirements. Ms. Griggs also serves on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council, responsible for advising the Financial Accounting Standards Board on strategic issues, project priorities, and other matters that affect accounting standards. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Griggs served as chief counsel to the chief accountant of the SEC.

Mr. Donahue is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Securities Practice, focusing on a wide range of corporate and securities law matters, with an emphasis on disclosure and securities law compliance issues, corporate governance matters, and capital market transactions. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Donahue served for more than three years as an attorney-adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the Division of Corporation Finance.
