PHILADELPHIA, October 16, 2008: Morgan Lewis real estate partner Tracy Steele, who became hiring partner for the firm’s Philadelphia office earlier this fall, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University.
The award, given once a year, is “made in admiration and recognition of devotion, spirit, and involvement on behalf of The Dickinson School of Law through alumni activities,” according to the school.
Ms. Steele’s receipt of this award highlights her long-term dedication to professional and community service activities. At Morgan Lewis, prior to becoming hiring partner in the Philadelphia office, Ms. Steele served as vice chairperson of the office’s Legal Recruitment Committee. She also continues to serve as a mentor for real estate attorneys who are new to the firm.
Outside of the office, Ms. Steele serves as a board member and community outreach chairperson for the Philadelphia chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women). The organization regularly addresses community needs through programs like CREW Careers—a hands-on classroom designed to open the eyes of teenage girls to the many opportunities available to them in the commercial real estate industry. She also serves in a variety of roles with the Dickinson School of Law, including as a member of the board of counselors and a member of the board of directors for the general alumni association.
