Princeton, NJ, June 28, 2004: Morgan Lewis announced today the addition of seven premier lawyers from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, who will join the Business and Finance Practice in the firm’s Princeton, New Jersey office. The group includes four partners, one of counsel and two associates.

The expansion of the Morgan Lewis Princeton office to 34 lawyers enhances the firm’s recognized emerging growth, technology, and life sciences practices in the Mid-Atlantic region. It also boosts the firm's global life sciences and technology practices, supporting its strategic expansions on the West Coast, particularly in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, as well as in Europe and Asia. The Princeton office of Morgan Lewis also has leading litigation and labor and employment practices.

David J. Sorin comes to Morgan Lewis as a partner who has played a pioneering role in building the infrastructure to support the New Jersey/New York technology corridor. He was the leader of a team of lawyers who in the last three years represented clients in more than 400 transactions with an aggregate value of $18 billion. He is also the co-founder, and serves on the board of directors, of the New Jersey Technology Council. His practice concentrates on emerging growth and high technology companies. A certified public accountant, he received his B.S. from New York University and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Andrew P. Gilbert comes to Morgan Lewis as a partner who focuses his practice in the areas of corporate finance, venture capital and securities law. He represents corporate clients, from startup private ventures to mature public companies, and his securities experience includes the representation of issuers, underwriters, and venture capital firms in connection with public and private offerings. He received his B.A. from Colgate University, and his J.D. from Rutgers University Law School.

Karen F. Leisten comes to Morgan Lewis as a partner who focuses her practice primarily on representing information technology, biotechnology, and other clients in the commercialization of technology assets. She has litigated a number of intellectual property cases and served as a member of the outside counsel team representing Hewlett-Packard in the Apple v. Microsoft and Hewlett Packard case. She received her B.S. in Business Administration and her J.D. from Fordam University School of Law.

Richard S. Mattessich joins Morgan Lewis as a partner who practices in the areas of corporate finance, venture capital and securities law. He has a history of representing start-up ventures, development stage and more mature private entities and publicly traded companies. He is actively involved in the capital raising process, with extensive experience as counsel to both issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements. A certified public accountant, he received his B.S./B.A. degree from Georgetown University, his M.B.A. in finance from New York University, and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
