Tuesday, November 5, 2013

DUBAI, November 5, 2013: Ayman Khaleq, Morgan Lewis Business and Finance Practice partner, resident in Dubai, was named to Private Equity Manager’s 2013 “Legal Power 30” list – an exclusive lineup of lawyers from across the globe identified by the industry and their peers as the most influential and prolific lawyers working in private equity today. The list is based on interviews with members of private equity firms, law firms and intermediaries in Europe, Asia and the U.S.

In an article about the “Legal Power 30” published in Private Equity Manager’s October 2013 issue, Mr. Khaleq is described by a client as “unquestionably the leading guy when it comes to Shari’a law relating to private equity.”  The article noted that each of the lawyers named “enjoys considerable influence thanks to a career spent building relationships with the key players in the private equity business. These are the go-to advisors for the funds that count; they work on the most sophisticated deals, and they devise new fund and transaction structures that go on to be adopted by the entire industry.”

Mr. Khaleq advises on the formation of innovative Shari’a-compliant private equity and real estate funds, as well as structured products particularly for international clients and Middle Eastern financial institutions. He also focuses his practice on advising on structured finance and debt capital markets transactions.

Mr. Khaleq is part of a Business and Finance team that spans the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with more than 350 transactional lawyers who focus on a wide variety of areas, including private equity, finance, bankruptcy and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets.
