Beijing, February 15, 2006 – Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is pleased to announce that Lucas Shen-Lun Chang has joined the firm and will continue his technology focused, cross-border corporate transactions practice representing clients based in Greater China and in the United States. The addition of Mr. Chang builds on Morgan Lewis’ ongoing commitment to expand its intellectual property and corporate transactional capabilities in Greater China.
Mr. Chang joins the firm as a Senior Partner in the Greater China Practice. He will be based in Palo Alto, California and spend considerable time in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Ms Loewenstein is Morgan Lewis’ Chief Representative in China.
“Our global client base has an increasing need for advice on how to structure their transactions in China and on doing business with Chinese companies throughout the world. We are also increasingly representing leading Chinese companies as their businesses expand into the United States, Europe and Japan. The launch of our Beijing office, the presence of our new Greater China team members, and our existing client base give us a significant opportunity to serve our clients in the world’s fastest growing market,” said Philip Werner.
Mr. Chang will focus on his technology driven practice involving foreign direct investment into Greater China through both venture capital and corporate acquisitions and representing Chinese companies in their expansion around the world, including the protection of their intellectual property. Mr. Chang is a graduate of National Taiwan University, where he studied chemical engineering and molecular biology, and holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Washington. He is a member of the California bar, and was formerly a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in its China practice.
