Monday, February 11, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 11, 2013: Morgan Lewis announced today that Eric S. Namrow, an intellectual property litigator who focuses his practice on cases before the International Trade Commission (ITC), as well as before district courts throughout the U.S., has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation and Intellectual Property Practices, resident in Washington, D.C. His arrival continues the growth of the firm's litigation bench in Washington, recently bolstered by the return of former Federal Trade Commission General Counsel Will Tom last week.

Mr. Namrow has particular experience in Section 337 investigations before the ITC and related proceedings before U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Court of International Trade. He will chair the firm's ITC practice.

"The ITC is becoming an increasingly popular venue for patent infringement litigation and is likely to become the battleground of choice for major intellectual property fights," Firm Chair Francis M. Milone said. "Eric has a long history trying cases before the ITC and his impeccable litigation credentials will certainly benefit our technology, pharmaceutical and other industry clients."

"Eric is recognized as a top ITC practitioner with a strong knowledge of the agency, its judges, and staff," noted Kell M. Damsgaard, Leader of Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. "We're thrilled to bolster our intellectual property capabilities with someone of his caliber."

Mr. Namrow, previously at another Am Law 200 firm, has represented complainants and respondents in more than forty ITC investigations involving a broad range of technologies and industries, including chemicals, computer science, semiconductors, telecommunications, and pharmaceuticals.  In addition to his ITC-related work, Mr. Namrow has handled numerous trials in U.S. district courts throughout the United States in all areas of intellectual property, including patents, trademark and trade dress, copyright, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition, as well as appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and state supreme courts.

Mr. Namrow joins an intellectual property litigation team that aggressively represents clients' interests in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and related intellectual property (including unfair competition) matters. Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Litigation Practice is tightly integrated into our global Litigation Practice, which draws on the strength of some 700 litigation-focused lawyers throughout our U.S. and foreign offices.
