Morgan Lewis Represents Mexican Government on $374 Million EchoStar Acquisition of Satmex

HOUSTON, March 1, 2010: EchoStar Satellite Services, L.L.C., a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation, and Satélites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V. (Satmex) have announced that EchoStar will acquire an ownership interest in Satmex, subject to certain conditions. Satmex is Mexico’s leading satellite operator and delivers video, audio, and data services to the Americas. Morgan Lewis served as U.S. counsel to the Mexican Government on the transaction, which is worth as much as $374 million. Casares, Castelazo, Frias, Tenorio y Zarate, S.C. served as lead Mexican counsel on the deal.
