New York, December 5, 2005 — Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is pleased to announce that Anne C. Flannery, most recently First Vice President and General Counsel for Global Regulatory Affairs with Merrill Lynch, has returned as a partner in the firm’s New York office. Ms. Flannery’s significant securities regulation, enforcement and litigation experience further enhances the firm’s leadership in this area.

Ms. Flannery originally joined Morgan Lewis as of counsel in October 1987 after a successful career at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In 1989, she was elected as a partner in the firm’s securities practice, achieving significant successes for clients during her tenure, while also serving on the Governing Board of the firm for several years. In 1999, Ms. Flannery left Morgan Lewis to join Merrill Lynch’s Office of General Counsel.

Ms. Flannery rejoins one of the nation’s leading securities practices, active in the enforcement, litigation, white collar and counseling areas. In service to the securities industry that continues to be pressured by the regulatory climate, Morgan Lewis has continued to strengthen this practice area with many recent significant additions including Bob Romano and Bob Mendelson, each of whom also returned during the last few years, and Mike Lawson, Joe Floren, Steve Malina, Mimi Bahcall and Rob Falkner. The firm also recently added Leslie Caldwell, John Hemann and Bill Kimball in the white collar area, further establishing its securities practice as one of the strongest in the country. Clients have been enthusiastic about Ms. Flannery’s return to Morgan Lewis.

A former co-chair of the ABA Litigation Section Securities Litigation Committee, and a former member of the New York Stock Exchange Legal Advisory Committee, Ms. Flannery has written and lectured extensively on various securities regulation and enforcement issues. She is a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School and of Marymount Manhattan College.
