The Philadelphia office of Morgan Lewis opened in 1873, as the firm's first office. It grew quickly due to the vision of Charles Eldridge Morgan Jr., Francis Draper Lewis and Morris Rex Bockius. By the 1930s, the office had a full-service practice, that served as the base on which the firm has grown. Today, lawyers in Philadelphia serve businesses and individuals whose interests are focused in the region and beyond.
Today, nearly 300 lawyers practice in Philadelphia, making the office one of the three largest in the firm. Historically, 15 to 25 summer associates, 15 to 25 entry-level associates, and 20 to 40 lateral associates are hired each year.
