The firm's Washington, D.C. office opened in 1947, beginning with regulatory work in energy and tax, and later cultivating a preeminent Labor and Employment practice. In 1994, the office sprang forward with a major expansion of the firm's Energy, Investment Management, and Intellectual Property practices. Other strong practice groups of the Washington, D.C. office include Antitrust, FDA and Healthcare, Financial Services, Litigation, Real Estate, and Tax. All lawyers accept offers to join specific practice groups. Lateral hiring needs for each practice group are based on client and market demands. Our summer associate program is our best source of entry-level associates. We customize our recruiting process to meet the information needs of the recruit as well as our interviewers, maximizing time spent for both parties. Our summer associate program is ambitious and is designed to give participants insight into our practice, including a generous mix of legal training.
