The Mechanical Patent group includes more than 20 patent professionals with diverse technical backgrounds in a wide range of technologies. Members of the mechanical group have undergraduate and/or advanced degrees in such fields as mechanical, civil, biomedical, aerospace, marine, and metallurgical engineering. Most group members have experience in industry as engineers or in government as patent examiners or law clerks to federal judges. Several have held positions in major corporations as in-house counsel or patent agents.
The focus of the mechanical group is to help clients develop, prosecute, and enforce through licensing and/or litigation high-quality utility and design patent portfolios in the U.S. and throughout the world. The group's members have substantial experience in a wide range of industries, including automotives, building construction, juvenile products, industrial purification and manufacturing, medical devices, and sporting goods. Litigation and counseling matters constitute a substantial component of the groups' practice, particularly in cases with industry-wide impacts.
