Trademark and Other IP Litigation
The Trademark/Copyright Litigation Group handles litigation in trademark, copyright, and false advertising. Under the aegis of this inter-practice group initiative, Morgan Lewis has combined the assets, experience and knowledge base of litigation-oriented lawyers from the firm’s Trademark-Copyright Practice Group with IP-oriented trial lawyers to meet clients’ needs.
Drawing on the resources and knowledge of more than 40 professionals dedicated to trademark, copyright, and false advertising law, our litigation team members have immense substantive knowledge of these areas of the law. Members of our team occupy leadership positions within the trademark and copyright bar and regularly speak, write, and teach trademark, copyright, and false advertising law.
We have handled cases in various key federal judicial districts for IP disputes (including New York, New Jersey, California and Florida) and have represented parties involved in such cases in federal appellate litigation. Morgan Lewis recently represented a group of noted authors and historians in filing an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in a copyright case of first impression. We also represent clients in various nonjudicial forums that include administrative litigation before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, proceedings before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, and domain name arbitration proceedings initiated under ICANN’s Uniform Dispute Resolution Rules.
Members of the Trademark-Copyright Litigation Group are familiar with and have litigated cases in a broad array of industries, including: consumer products, pharmaceuticals, fragrances/cosmetics, toys and games, insurance, motion pictures, construction, and online retailing.
