Eric J. Marcuson is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Real Estate Practice. Our real estate attorneys represent a variety of real estate owners and stakeholders, including: national and international companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional lenders, private equity funds, and pension funds and advisers in connection with their ownership, use, and financing of real estate.

Mr. Marcuson has represented REITs, Fortune 500 companies, privately held real estate companies, energy and utility companies, institutional lenders, private equity funds, and other owners, operators, and users of real estate in a wide variety of real estate transactions. He also represents institutional investors in the formation of real estate investment vehicles.

Mr. Marcuson regularly handles complex multistate transactions, including portfolio acquisitions, dispositions and financings, and real estate joint ventures, as well as commercial leasing and sale and leaseback transactions for office, warehouse, and industrial properties.

Mr. Marcuson's representative transactions include:

  • Representation of a global investment firm in its acquisition and related project financing of a wind energy generation project in the western United States.
  • Representation of a national energy company in its acquisition of more than 30 refined petroleum products terminals and approximately 1,000 miles of refined petroleum products pipelines.
  • Representation of a leading financial services company in connection with a $190 million joint venture transaction with respect to an approximately 650,000 square foot class A office building in midtown Manhattan.
  • Representation of a publicly-traded REIT in its lease of approximately 860,000 square feet in a landmark building in Philadelphia to a governmental agency.
  • Representation of a private equity firm in its acquisition of a tire and automotive supply retailer and the sale and leaseback of over 70 of the retailer's real property assets.

Mr. Marcuson earned his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2001 and his B.A. from George Washington University in 1998.

Mr. Marcuson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
