In 2011, the SEC and FINRA continued their vigorous enforcement of the securities laws, resulting in an increase in enforcement cases brought against broker-dealers, with a 60% increase in such SEC enforcement actions and a 13.5% increase in FINRA disciplinary actions since 2010.

Charles D. Manice is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Manice practices in a wide range of areas including business and corporate disputes, corporate investigations, and white collar criminal defense. His experience includes internal investigations on behalf of institutional clients, representing firms in securities fraud class actions, and actions brought by bankruptcy trustees.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Manice was an associate in the global litigation practice of an international law firm.

Mr. Manice received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2007. While in law school, he was a student prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's office and served as an intern to Judge David G. Trager of U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Manice received his B.A. in business law from Tulane University in 2003. He is fluent in French.

Mr. Manice is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York.
