John D. Gordan, III is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Gordan's practice focuses on civil litigation with a special emphasis on the insurance industry due to his service as counsel to one of the largest insurance brokers in the United States. Mr. Gordan also represented the directors of two failed savings and loan associations in litigation brought by the Resolution Trust Corporation.

Mr. Gordan served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Inzer B. Wyatt of the Southern District of New York. He then worked as an assistant U.S. attorney, chief appellate attorney and executive assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York. Before joining the firm in 1994, Mr. Gordan was a partner at the New York firm of Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith.

Mr. Gordan is admitted to practice in New York.
