Kathleen A. Keyser is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Real Estate Practice. Our real estate attorneys represent a variety of real estate owners and stakeholders, including: national and international companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional lenders, private equity funds, and pension funds and advisers in connection with their ownership, use, and financing of real estate.

Ms. Keyser assists clients with complex real estate transactions, including portfolio transactions involving large numbers of properties across multiple jurisdictions. She regularly advises clients on real estate issue associated with environmental-and litigation-based matters. She has provided diligence and transactional support for the acquisition, sale, operation, and financing of coal-fired, hydro electric, and solar projects nationwide. Ms. Keyser has also handled several sophisticated corporate real estate transactions, including substantial work with REITs and leases and dispositions for clients in the life sciences industry. 

Ms. Keyser's representative transactions include:

  • Representation of a publicly-traded REIT in its acquisition of 20 Class-As self storage facilities in New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania for $431 million.
  • Represented a consumer-focused nutrition company in a 120,000 square foot headquarters lease.
  • Representation of a publicly-traded REIT in a deal valued at $3.3 billion which included the acquisition of 29.2 million square feet of space in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
  • Representation of an energy company in its negotiation with the Army Corps of Engineers in connection with real estate issues, permitting, and reclamation.
  • Representation of a hydro electric power provider in its acquisition of a 2,300 acre site in Pennsylvania, including diligence and analysis relating to issues surrounding the site's sewage treatment plant, 21 residential leases, and a complex ownership structure.
  • Representation of one of the nation's largest banks in a variety of matters relating to its real estate owned (REO) assets.

Ms. Keyser earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2002, and her A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1996.

Ms. Keyser is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
