Lewis M. Csedrik is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Energy Practice. Mr. Csedrik focuses his practice on litigation and investigations before the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, and Department of Labor and on civil litigation before state and federal courts. In recent years, Mr. Csedrik has represented NRC licensees and their contractors and DOE contractors and their subcontractors in a variety of matters, including whistleblower litigation and related government investigations into allegations of retaliation and deliberate procedural and regulatory violations.
In addition to representing clients in litigation and government investigations, Mr. Csedrik has performed numerous independent investigations into allegations of harassment and intimidation of employees and other types of wrongdoing. He also assists clients in assessing and enhancing their work environments and cultures of safety and compliance, and provides training to management and workers in these areas. Mr. Csedrik recently helped develop and conduct training on complete and accurate reporting and maintaining and enhancing the Safety Conscious Work Environment for an entire fleet of nuclear power plants.
Mr. Csedrik also advises clients on a variety of licensing and reporting requirements under the Atomic Energy Act; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; and other statutes and regulations applicable to members of the nuclear industry. Recent representations in these areas include the development and defense of the DOE's Yucca Mountain license application filed with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Csedrik was a summer associate for Morgan Lewis in Washington, D.C. and interned at the National Trust for Historic Preservation through Morgan Lewis's Public Interest and Community Service Program. Before entering law school, he worked at a coldwater conservation organization where he assisted with hydroelectric relicensing and decommissioning matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Csedrik is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Connecticut.
