Gregory T. Fouts is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Fouts focuses his practice on complex litigation, with a particular focus on the defense of consumer class actions. He has experience defending clients in the financial services industry in federal and state court in purported class actions alleging violations of federal statutes, state consumer fraud statutes, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. Mr. Fouts also has defended manufacturers of consumer products in cases alleging statutory fraud and breach of warranty.
Mr. Fouts also represents clients in a variety of other commercial disputes. He has prosecuted and defended RICO claims, and has defended clients in cases alleging accounting malpractice, lender liability, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty.
Mr. Fouts maintains an active pro bono practice. He represents the Chicago Children's Museum as litigation counsel, and has represented clients in habeas corpus and asylum proceedings.
Mr. Fouts earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington in 2004, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as notes and comments editor for the Indiana Law Journal. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in English from Wake Forest University in 1999.
Mr. Fouts is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for Second and Seventh Circuits and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
