Gregory J. Hessinger is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Hessinger's practice focuses on a broad range of labor and employment law matters, including collective bargaining, NLRB advice and litigation, labor arbitrations, union organizing campaigns, restrictive covenants, and other employment disputes. Mr. Hessinger represents clients in a variety of different industries, with a particular focus on the entertainment industry, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers. His experience includes work with all of the major studios, television networks, broadcast companies, and record labels, as well as the multiemployer associations that dominate labor relations in the entertainment industry. He has negotiated dozens of major collective bargaining agreements in the entertainment industry from both sides of the table. He also has substantial knowledge of pension and healthcare issues, having served as a trustee on several multiemployer plans.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Hessinger was executive director of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), where he was the chief executive of a 120,000-member national labor union representing actors and other performers. Prior to that, he was the executive director of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Mr. Hessinger also worked in the entertainment industry at CBS and Westinghouse Broadcasting Company. He began his legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Mr. Hessinger received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 1990, where he was a member of St. John's Law Review and where he received the American Jurisprudence Awards. He received his B.A. in political science from Lebanon Valley College in 1987.
Mr. Hessinger is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York.
