Patrick D. Conner is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Conner's practice is concentrated in complex business and commercial litigation in federal and state courts, with a particular focus on litigation in the global financial services arena. He represents some of the largest financial institutions in the world, as well as their officers and directors, in a wide variety of litigation matters and in internal and regulatory investigations. These matters include shareholder class actions, derivative suits, arbitrations, mediations, and investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and various state securities regulators. Mr. Conner has defended financial institutions in virtually all of the "high stakes" securities enforcement matters in recent years, including cases involving insider trading, leveraged and inverse leveraged ETFs, short sales, mutual fund market timing, auction rate securities, and specialist trading. He also has represented companies dealing with internal and government investigations in the aftermath of the turbulence in the financial and mortgage markets.
Mr. Conner also has counseled clients on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including accountant and lender liability claims, commercial contract disputes, and business torts.
Mr. Conner received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1998. While in law school, Mr. Conner was a national finalist in the ABA and National Moot Court Competitions, and he also was named to the Lumpkin Inn of Court and the Order of Barristers. He received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1995 and attended Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
Mr. Conner is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Georgia.
