Robert A. Goldspink is the Managing partner of the London office and head of Morgan Lewis's International Litigation and Arbitration practice in London. Usually, his cases involve multi-jurisdictional financial or commercial disputes and often issues of fraud.

Robert is an English solicitor and an accredited mediator.

Over the last 25 years he has represented banks, companies and government agencies in many substantial cases involving teams of lawyers and other advisers in many different countries.

He is cited as one of London’s leading commercial litigation lawyers by Chambers and Partners’ Guide to the Legal Profession, The Legal 500, Legal Experts, Guide to the World’s Leading Litigation Lawyers and An International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitrators. He is also cited in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers and Who’s Who in the Law.

Chambers and Partners Directory 2003-4 stated: "… according to peers, [Morgan Lewis] enjoys a "heavyweight" reputation in handling disputes concerning insurance and fraud-related issues. … Rivals credit Robert Goldspink … as having "built a more substantial practice in London than many other US firms".

Chambers UK: A Client's Guide to the UK Legal Profession (2008), listed Robert in their Banking Litigation, Dispute Resolution, and Fraud categories. He earned praise from clients for being an "exceptional operator" who is valued by sources for his "wisdom and experience." He is also described as "a venerable figure in the litigation community" and someone who "commands the respect of a clientele composed of industry heavyweights" and whose "peers enjoy dealing with him." Finally, he is credited for his "tremendous" client-handling skills, for "always going the extra mile" in clients' interests, and for putting together a "top-notch" team for clients.

Before joining the firm, Robert set up and managed the general commercial litigation team at Denton Hall.

He was a member of the joint working party of the Bar and The Law Society (Heilbron Committee) which, in 1993, reviewed Britain’s civil courts and made wide-ranging recommendations for the reform of the English civil litigation process. He also was a member of the "Marriott Committee", whose work in 1994 was developed into new arbitration legislation in England.

He helped set up the Court of Appeal’s mediation system in England in 1998.

He is a member of the Commercial Court Users’ Committee.

Robert is co-editor of Sweet and Maxwell’s International Commercial Fraud, the first English text book bringing together English law from all areas of law and practice on this subject. He is author of the chapter on enforcement of arbitral awards in The International Comparative Legal Guide to International Arbitration 2004. Sir Gavin Lightman, former judge in the High Court, wrote: "this work will surely prove to be the vademecum of any serious practitioner in this field."

Robert is admitted to practice in England and Wales as a Solicitor.
