Devon E. Turner is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. She has represented mortgage and banking companies in a broad range of litigation matters. Ms. Turner also has experience counseling nationally known residential mortgage companies in connection with their efforts to respond to changes in the legal landscape.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Turner was an Assistant District Attorney for Philadelphia County for six years, where she prosecuted crimes against children, including physical and sexual abuse, and routinely handled cases involving expert testimony in the fields of medicine and forensic science. Ms. Turner tried more than 25 jury trials to verdict in the Court of Common Pleas, and more than 100 bench trials in both the Court of Common Pleas and the Municipal Court. Additionally, she litigated motions in limine and post-verdict motions.
In 2011, Ms. Turner earned an LL.M. in taxation from Temple University, Beasley Law School. She earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2004. While at Duquesne, Ms. Turner was a member of the moot court trial team and competed in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America competition in 2003 and 2004, where she was a semifinalist. She is a recipient of the Order of Barristers Award as well as the Katie Westbrook Award, which recognizes excellent trial advocacy skills. She also received the Student Advocacy Award of International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2004. Ms. Turner earned her B.A. in business management and economics from Goucher College in 2001.
