Katherine L. Hoekman is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Hoekman advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment matters, including claims based on Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and state wage and discrimination laws. She also has advised clients regarding traditional labor issues, including collective bargaining agreements, representation elections, and workforce reductions and consolidations.
Ms. Hoekman has experience defending employers in federal and state jury trials involving wrongful termination, non-compete agreements, and misappropriation of trade secrets issues. She has also defended clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including an unfair labor practice hearing.
Ms. Hoekman received a certificate in employee benefits from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008 and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2006. While in law school, she was an intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Hoekman received her B.S. in international studies and economics from Rhodes College in 2002.
