Edward T. Chaney is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Tax Practice. Mr. Chaney focuses his practice primarily on representing tax-exempt organizations in a variety of matters, including exemption applications, audits, tax planning, unrelated business income tax issues, and charitable giving.

Mr. Chaney earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2007, where he served as editor-in-chief of the First Amendment Law Review and was a member of the Craven Bench for the Holderness Moot Court. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Chaney worked for 10 years in nonprofit management. He has served as a program director, executive director, board member, and board chair with a number of tax-exempt organizations. Mr. Chaney earned his B.A. in English and political science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1994.

Mr. Chaney is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and North Carolina.
