Julie A. Govreau is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice. Ms. Govreau focuses her practice on all aspects of employee benefits law, including deferred compensation plans, defined benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, executive compensation arrangements, employee stock ownership plans, multiemployer plans (withdrawal liability), welfare benefit plans, and ERISA litigation. She also has experience practicing general labor and employment law.

Ms. Govreau earned her LL.M., with honors, in employee benefits from The John Marshall Law School in 2006 and her J.D., magna cum laude, from The John Marshall Law School in 2004. While in law school, Ms. Govreau was an investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration, where she assisted in multiemployer pension plan investigations and was in charge of the Chicago Regional Office's EDS Targeting Program. Prior to attending law school, she was a human resources manager at several Chicago law firms. Ms. Govreau earned her M.S. in public services management from DePaul University in 2000 and her B.S. in political science from the University of Wisconsin in 1993.

Ms. Govreau is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She has been published in various Illinois State Bar Association newsletters and writes for The John Marshall Law School Tax and Employee Benefits Newsletter.

Ms. Govreau is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
