Michael Masling

Associate

Michael Masling is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Antitrust Practice. The lawyers in our Antitrust Practice handle the most complex antitrust issues that affect clients in all industries and throughout the global economy. We advise clients regarding mergers and other filings; obtain clearance from national and international competition authorities; defend clients in government, private investigations, or litigation; provide antitrust counseling and negotiate with competition agencies; and help ensure that clients' business operations comply with—but are not unduly restrained by—applicable competition law requirements.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Dr. Masling served his legal clerkship at the District Court of Hamburg. During his training period, he worked for an international oil company, with a focus on antitrust issues; a German strategy consultancy in its energy and chemical competence center; and for the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York. During his dissertation, he worked in the antitrust practice group of an international law firm.

Dr. Masling passed his second state exam in Hamburg in 2009. He received his DR.JUR. in constitutional and European law from the European University Viadrina in Frankurt/Oder in 2008. Dr. Masling studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Cologne and passed the first state exam in 2005. He is fluent in German, English, and French.
