Mitchell A. Sterling is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Real Estate Practice. Our real estate attorneys represent a variety of real estate owners and stakeholders, including: national and international companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional lenders, private equity funds, and pension funds and advisers in connection with their ownership, use, and financing of real estate.
A LEED Green Associate, Mr. Sterling's practice focuses on real estate transactions involving green building and sustainable development. He also represents financial institutions in matters involving their real estate-owned (REO) assets.
Mr. Sterling's representative transactions include:
- Representation of a landlord in the evaluation and drafting of its green leasing provisions.
- Representation of a media conglomerate in a $143 million disposition of 26 owned properties and 17 leased properties in six states.
- Representation of one of the nation's largest banks in a variety of matters relating to its REO assets.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Sterling worked in project management for a prominent national home builder and was an associate in the real estate practice of a national law firm.
Mr. Sterling earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2004, where he served as a staff writer for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal and was an honorary board member of the Dean's Cabinet. He earned his B.B.A. in marketing from Emory University in 1999.
Mr. Sterling is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
