Melissa A. Mares is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. Ms. Mares focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions of publicly and privately held companies, general corporate matters, and venture capital financing.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Mares was an associate in the corporate transactional group of a prestigious law firm in Wilmington, Delaware. While there, she advised corporations, boards of directors, and board committees in connection with mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, stock issuances, stockholder meetings, and corporate governance matters.

Ms. Mares earned her J.D. in 2005 from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she served as a staff editor for the Wake Forest Law Review. She earned her B.S., cum laude, in psychology from Davidson College in 2002.

Ms. Mares is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
