Gregory T. Lowen, Ph.D., is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. His practice focuses on patent issues. Dr. Lowen has assisted with the preparation and prosecution of pharmaceutical, polymer, and inorganic chemical patent applications and with the preparation of opinions involving infringement, validity, and freedom to operate. He has assisted with litigation involving the intellectual property rights associated with pharmaceuticals and nonpharmaceutical consumer products. Dr. Lowen has practical experience in organic synthesis in the area of natural products, heteroaromatics, nucleosides, carbohydrates, and small peptides.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Dr. Lowen was a senior research chemist at American Cyanamid's agrochemical division in Princeton for three years and a senior research scientist in the medicinal chemistry departments of Burroughs Wellcome and GlaxoWellcome in Research Triangle Park for eight years. He is an inventor on eight U.S. patents and has authored 11 scientific publications. He was a patent intern at NASA Langley Research Center
Dr. Lowen is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
