Denis Segota

Denis Segota is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice, resident in the Princeton office. Mr. Segota has an extensive background in transactions including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, various private financing transactions, representing both financial institutions and companies in senior and mezzanine credit financing, venture capital, and other private equity financing.

Mr. Segota devotes substantial time in the life sciences area, representing both pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in complex joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing, and other partnering arrangements promoting the research, development, and commercialization of new products.

Mr. Segota also spends significant time representing alternative energy and other emerging growth technology companies in a variety of financing, acquisitions, divestitures, and other general corporate matters, including advising companies and their boards on corporate governance matters.

Mr. Segota has recently co-written articles titled "Fundamentals of Negotiating Venture Capital Financing" in New Jersey Tech News, "Debt Financing for Technology Companies" in the New Jersey Technology Financing Manual, and "Changing Environment for Pharma-Biotech Collaborations" in the New Jersey Technology Life Science Tech News.

Mr. Segota earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark in 1992 and his B.S., cum laude, in finance from Rutgers College in 1989.

Mr. Segota is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
